The Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDI) announced the opening of registration for participation in the second edition of the Innovation Districts Forum 2025, organized by RDI in partnership with Dhahran Techno Valley, to be held on November 17–18. The forum comes as part of RDI’s efforts to strengthen the national research and innovation ecosystem and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a thriving knowledge-based economy.

The forum aims to build partnerships that foster knowledge exchange and explore new frontiers for developing the research, development, and innovation ecosystem in the Kingdom, in addition to supporting startups, accelerating technology commercialization, and enhancing collaboration between universities and government entities. It will also highlight global best practices in developing innovation districts and advancing their role in supporting deep technologies and talent development.

The forum further seeks to enhance the impact of innovation districts across the research and innovation sectors, explore effective strategies for strengthening collaboration among ecosystem stakeholders, and create an enabling environment that celebrates achievements and flagship initiatives within national priorities. It will also showcase available resources, funding opportunities, and mentorship programs dedicated to deep-tech entrepreneurs.

Serving as a national platform, the forum will bring together innovation leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, major corporations, incubators, accelerators, and ecosystem stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities, exchange experiences, and discuss solutions to local and global challenges.

The two-day forum will feature two main tracks: the first day will focus on innovation districts and their evolving role in advancing research and development, while the second day will highlight technology commercialization and transfer, presenting leading practices in transforming innovations into impactful products. The forum will also include an accompanying exhibition, offering startups the opportunity to showcase their products and innovative technology solutions.

The forum’s main topics include future leadership in innovation centers, building the foundational infrastructure for technologies in innovation districts, enabling national creative talents, and exploring the integrated role of the technology transfer and commercialization ecosystem, from infrastructure to investment in startups, in addition to highlighting success stories and progress achieved within the national innovation landscape.
